Raised with religion, Francis learned connecting with symbols and their deeper meaning; the Eucharist, the Trinity, baptism and the Cross. During puberty, looking for a bridge to the modern world he searched for answers in the work of Carl Jung, Rudolf Steiner and Krishnamurti. Later in life he connected with the "boogie woogie" renaissance humanism of Fons Elders, the work of Henri Corbin and Chogyam Trungpa.
